Dialysis

Saideep Hospital offers cutting-edge dialysis services, with the latest technical advances combined with a caring, patient-centric approach.

Hemodialysis

Hemodialysis uses a special filter called a dialyzer as an artificial kidney to clean the blood of waste products and remove the extra fluid that accumulates. The dialysis machine pumps blood through the dialyzer. The cleaned blood flows out of the dialyzer and back into the bloodstream. Most people undergo three dialysis sessions each week, for four to five hours each time using their dialysis access. During dialysis, a person also receives medication to replace the hormones that the kidneys are unable to produce.

At Saideep Hospitals dialysis unit, we have 8 state of the at Hemodialysis machine which are functional round the clock, under the supervision of Saideep’s Nephrology team.

The dedicated team also extends their services to Rupatitis B, C & HIV Positive Patients on hemodialysis.

Percutaneous Renal Biopsies

At Saideep Hospital percutaneous renal biopsy is an integral part of the clinical practice at the Kidney Institute. It is essential in the diagnosis of glomerular, vascular and tubulointerstitial diseases of the kidney, providing information that is invaluable in prognosis and patient management. The use of real-time ultrasound and automated biopsy needles has simplified and improved the success and safety of this procedure. The Kidney Institute continuously trains young nephrologists in the proper technique of performing renal biopsy procedures.

Open biopsy

After giving a general anesthetic, the doctor makes an incision in the skin and surgically removes a piece of the kidney. Depending on the lab findings, further surgery may be performed.

Nephropathology

Nephropathology is a pathology subspecialty, focusing on the microscopic diagnosis and interpretation of kidney biopsies. Most nephropathology focuses on understanding the key features associated with the disease processes seen in the patients’ own kidneys as well as in those who have received transplanted kidneys. State-of-the-art procedures for kidney transplantation include:

  • Cadaveric renal transplantation
  • Cadaver-donor kidney transplantation
  • Living donor kidney transplants (from both related and unrelated donors)
  • Laparoscopic donor nephrectomy
